Our Detailing Process
Whether it's performing a simple wash to doing a concourse, show car detail, there's a primary methodology that we follow:

Always start with the least aggressive method first and go from there.

Any professional detailers will follow this same process and we are not the only ones to use this method.

What does this mean?

Think of the time you got a paper cut on your finger.

Is the first thing that you think of is to call an ambulance and get surgery on your finger?

Of course not.

Your first thought is to just put a band-aid over it. In just a short period of time, your paint will be gone and it will be back to normal.

The same concept goes for any of the detail services that we offer.

When we're removing a scratch from your paint, we're not going to immediately pull out the big guns on the first try. It's an overkill

We start off with the least aggressive method.

Did it come off? Does it look better? Can I continue with this?

If we think that we can get a better result or can't get the result that you are looking for, we move on to a more aggressive method and so on.

This ensures that we only use the least aggressive method that works on your car to maintain the integrity of the clear coat on your car.

Keeping as much clear coat as possible on your car's paint is crucial just like having thick skin on your body which protects you from all the harmful stuff that's out there.

What happens if you start with the most aggressive method?

While this can get you a good result, you're doing way more work than necessary to get the job done.

Going back to the paper cut example, it's like going to the hospital to get the surgery when all you needed was to just put on a band-aid.

This is why when performing a paint correction, we do a "test spot" to test out which method works the best in the safest way possible.

We don't want to perform a 2 Stage Paint Correction when all you needed was a quick polish.

This way, we can offer the most genuine results to YOU.

It will save a lot of time on both ends, and will cost less to you!

This goes the same with how mechanics operate.

They'll always start with the most basic solution to the problem.

If your headlight isn't working, they won't start checking all the wires and replacing the whole unit, but instead, they try a new bulb to make sure it works.

So when you get your car detailed by TKDETAILS, you know that the process we go through offers you the best result without sacrificing the quality of the job and your vehicle.

We just had our car detailed but it looks bad

This gets asked a lot to us for those who got their car "detailed" recently.

A client will want their car waxed but then they end up with a noticeable difference negatively in their paint than it was before.

This is because those "detailers" who performed it used wrong tools and methods which were too aggressive, resulting in a mediocre finish.

Customers ask us
- I have a scratch. Can you take it out?
- There is a stain on my paint. Can you clean it out?

Since we need to go through our checklist of aggression, we hardly say "Yes we can."

This is because we can't.

Your car's condition needs to be physically inspected and a test spot needs to be performed in order to get yield the best result.

It will all depend on the size, condition of the vehicle, and the result we are looking for.

Let's say you have a very deep scratch in the paint and we were able to remove it.

Fast forward to a few months later, you noticed that the spot that the scratch was has a fading spot on the clear coat.

What does it mean? It means your clear coat started failing since we removed so much, that the integrity of the clear coat has diminished to the point that it no longer exists. Now what? You need to get it repainted.

As you can tell we care about preserving your car as much as we aim to achieve perfection.

What good is it going to be if your car's condition won't even last a lifetime that it has?

This is why we always suggest customers with the least aggressive method and start from there.
